Together

It's a case of Beauty and the Beast for sure, but this is my girl. We met right here on SU. We are planning on a September wedding, and will exchange vows on the mighty Mississippi river. My son has agreed to be my best man. To steal a line from Lou Gehrig: "Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth."
Okay. I'm aware that the tens of thousands of people that can't wait to ignore my pages don't give a rip. But of the baker's dozen or so of you that have stumbled on in, I'm gonna venture a guess that approximately 100% of you surfed on in upon a wave that originated here. And I'm sure that more than a few of you are wondering just what I've done with everybody's darling. Well, nothing, really. And just to show you that she's alive, well, and not chained to the wall down in my basement, I give you this:

Taken only a couple of days ago, this proves me innocent of all charges. I have no Idea why such a stunner would agree to marry a guy like me, but as you can clearly see in this gen-u-wine, unretouched photograph, she looks sane. And that's good enough for me.

I've been stumbling around SU for, like, 20-some-odd years, and I just now came across Bordertourista's pages? It's an outrage!
Well, I'm glad I got that out of my system. Now I can settle in and peruse the pages that C has graciously crafted for the entire SU-niverse to enjoy. Plenty of Norma Jean, Calvin and Hobbes, and inspirational poems and photos, but there's also a mess of great music videos (yeah, Pink Floyd...), and just the right amount of half-nekkid, sand-and/or-water-covered supermodels. Balance. That's what it's all about; it's what we all strive for, and that's what we have here, thanks to Bordertourista.

I love stuff like this! Time travel. But I don't know that I'd like to meet Future Me. I'm not all that impressed with Present Me, and I'd just end up depressed as hell if I traveled through time only to find that I was the same, just older. I suppose I could travel backwards, and tell Lil' Me to save all those comics and baseball cards, and Present Me could sell them for a hefty sum, then Future Me could be the President of the World or something. That would be excellent. Then again, who needs the trouble? Still, the idea intrigues me.

You Are From Mercury

You are talkative, clever, and knowledgeable - and it shows.
You probably never leave home without your cell phone!
You're witty, expressive, and aware of everything going on around you.
You love learning, playing, and taking in all of what life has to offer.
Be careful not to talk your friends' ears off, and temper your need to know everything.
What Planet Are You From?

Months of careful planning, hard work, and the imaginative placement of a yellow dishtowel paid off in spades yesterday, as an enthusiastic crowd applauded the unveiling of "Spring Tree" at the Landing Gallery.
The cream of Southern society had a swinging time and dined on pork chops prior to the grand event. One critic, evidently overcome by emotion on viewing the work, was heard to exclaim, "Why? Why did you do that?" The artist was effusive in detailing her inspiration for the creation of the masterpiece.
A fine time was had by all. Seriously. No, I mean it.
